Machiko Toyama is a founder of ACUTA K.K. A Tokyo-based consulting firm for global business.
  • Founder, CEO

A visionary entrepreneur with 19 years of experience in business development, IT, and tech startups, our founder brings a rare combination of technical depth, global insight, and purpose-driven leadership.

Born and raised in Tokyo, her journey into technology began at just nine years old when she joined a computer club and wrote her first lines of code. This early spark evolved into a lifelong passion for innovation and creating value through technology.

Her global perspective was shaped by over a decade of international experience, having lived and worked in cities including New York, Barcelona, Belgrade, and Rome. With a deep understanding of cultural dynamics and hands-on collaboration with over 500 companies across 25 countries, she is a skilled facilitator and negotiator in multinational, cross-functional teams.

As the founder of a consulting firm supporting startups, global M&A, and digital transformation in traditional industries, she specializes in uncovering the real needs of each organization and designing tailored, actionable strategies. Her work is guided by a strong belief in using technology as a force for good—actively supporting NPOs and volunteer initiatives to create meaningful social impact.

Outside of business, she is passionate about music, gaming, film, and the live entertainment industry, with particular expertise in industry ethics and rights. Her background as a long-time performer fuels a deep respect for the entertainment world—not only as a business, but as a vital space for creativity, expression, and cultural impact. She never loses sight of the joy and importance of supporting and honoring the artists and creators behind the work. Her diverse interests and creative mindset continue to energize her entrepreneurial drive and global outlook.
